Taking Care of Our Environment — Trees!

So why trees? What's so important about them? Trees absorb pollutants through their leaves, by sequestering and filtering contaminants in the air — like all green plants, trees also produce oxygen through photosynthesis.

According to One Tree Planted, "Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitat to over 80% of the world's terrestrial biodiversity. Forests provide jobs to over 1.6 billion people, absorb harmful carbon from the atmosphere, and are key ingredients in 25% of all medicines."

  Tree Planting in British Columbia
It’s our mission to help spread knowledge and awareness on how best to protect and preserve this beautiful, yet fragile planet of ours.

Introducing our first official project for our new BC Wildland Ecological Society! Over the last two spring times we’ve been busy deploying MCH pheromones to protect the remaining Douglas Fir trees and areas of refugia from fir beetle attack, post wildfire. By putting up the little pods of MCH every 20 metres in a grid pattern, it communicates to the potentially invading beetles that there is no more food left and to go somewhere else. Pictured below is Jana, our onsite manager, boots on the ground — protecting our precious planet!
