All-Inclusive Dude Ranch for Families | Free-Range Kids

We love hosting other families with children of all ages at our multi-generation, family-owned and operated luxury guest ranch and eco-lodge. Children ages 7 years and older are very welcome to participate with their parents in the daily guided adventures and activities.

Quite frequently, younger children may accompany as well. We also have a program dedicated for young children, 'Free-Range Kids', named for the wonderful way the owners raised their children on the ranch.

Free-Range Kids Program

For our general guest activity program, it is up to management and the guides as to whether a child younger than 7 years of age may participate in a guided adventure, like horse riding for instance. This is a decision based solely on safety.

If we must make this safety call on behalf of a child, or in the event a family chooses to participate in an activity without their youngster in tow, our Free-Range Kids program for children ages 2 through 7 ensures that little ones have many amazing ranch experiences regardless. In certain circumstances, we will extend this program for children older than 7 years of age.

Free-Range Kids program activities are both fun and educational, while revolving around creative play in nature and ranch life. They are mainly outdoor experiences, such as ecology studies, nature walks, canoeing lessons, scavenger hunts, gardening, horse care, pony rides, fort building, meadow games, lake activities like swimming and kayaking, animal tracking and identification, and collecting chicken eggs.

Activities are geared for the ages and group dynamics of the children. During quiet times and inclement weather, our arts and crafts program comes into play, with a focus on local Indigenous culture.

When arranged at time of booking, for children ages 2-7, our Free-Range Kids program is included under the all-inclusive ‘Find Your Wild’ package . It is available every morning from 10am-1pm, and every afternoon from 2:30pm to 5:00pm, except for arrival and departure days.

Families with babies and toddlers under the age of 2 are very welcome, with special bedding available on request. Childrren under the age of 2 must be attended by a parent at all times.
