Seasons in the Wild at Siwash Lake
Each season at Siwash Lake Wilderness Resort & Ranch is a masterpiece painted by nature. From springtime serenades to autumn’s golden glow, experience a luxurious, soulful journey into British Columbia’s wild heartland.
Magic in the Air
There’s a certain magic in watching the seasons unfold at Siwash Lake. As our team prepares the ranch for this year's guests, warblers flit through budding aspens and the scent of damp earth signals new life.
While a double rainbow arcs over our western homestead, let’s wander through the four unique chapters of the Siwash Lake guest season: Songbird, Wildflower, Starlight, and Harvest.

Songbird Season
When the snow retreats and the land exhales, spring at Siwash Lake—our Songbird Season—comes alive with music. From late May into June, grasslands become a stage for melodic sparrows, swallows, and meadowlarks.
Wetlands teem with yellow-headed blackbirds, ducks, and geese, each dawn welcomed by their raucous symphony. Trails soften underfoot, and guests might glimpse newborn fawns while horse riding, or paddle a canoe through the mirrored waters of Siwash Lake as a loon calls across the stillness.

Wildflower Season
By mid June into July, the land bursts into bloom. Wildflower Season sees the meadows blanketed in tiger lilies, Indian paintbrush, and wild roses. Swathes of magenta fireweed brush a rider's stirrups.
Long sunlit days invite horseback safaris through golden grasslands, with saddlebag picnics by the river. This is the heart of adventure season, where every activity—from fly fishing to archery—hums with the vibrant energy of early summer.

Starlight Season
As July ripens into August, we enter the dreamy cadence of Starlight Season. Warm days give way to crisp evenings perfect for stargazing beneath the velvet Cariboo sky. Guests savour slow moments—sipping fine wine by a campfire, soaking in a cedar hot tub, or hiking our wildland interpretive trail at twilight.
Come nightfall, the Star Gazer Luxury Tent offers front-row views of the Perseid meteor shower through its custom skylight—guests can enjoy nature’s celestial theatre from the comforts of a king bed.

Harvest Season
September ushers in Harvest Season’s tranquil hush. The land deepens into jewel tones as young aspens turn amber and ochre, and golden grasslands ripple under sapphire skies. Wildlife grows bolder—deer, moose, and black bears are preparing for winter.
It’s our coziest chapter: crackling fires, a soothing stillness, and sunset views from the lodge of the horses grazing in the home meadow. The perfect invitation for reflection, retreat, and reconnection.

Every season tells a story at Siwash Lake.
